Now think about the following questions:

1. If you were one of the songwriters of the first song (Roy Orbison and Bill Dees), how would you feel about your song being used like that in the second one? Do you feel like your "rights" (whatever common meaning you take from that term) have been violated somehow?

2. 2 Live Crew sold over 2 million copies of the second song and made a lot of money. As the songwriter of the original, do you feel you are owed a piece of that pie?
